The Basics

Live Prestige Baccarat No Commission follows the standard rules of the game. It is played with a shoe containing eight decks of cards and as usual, players bet on which hand position, Player or Banker, will have a value closer to 9 at the end of a round.

When calculating the value of a hand, Aces are worth 1, the number cards 2 to 10 are worth their face value and the face cards (Jack, Queen and King) are all worth ten. If a hand has a total of more than 10 then 10 is subtracted from the total, e.g. a hand of 12 is worth 2.

There are just three main bets in Baccarat, Banker, Player and Tie, and the game has a number of potentially lucrative side bets.

How a Round Works

At the start of a round, you need to place your bets on Banker, Player or Tie as well as any side bets you wish to place. The dealer then deals two facedown cards to each of the hand positions. The dealer immediately reveals the cards in the position that has lesser total bets on it. The dealer reveals one card from the other position, and then performs the squeeze ritual to the second card. The squeeze is captured in a series of close up shots making the reveal even more exciting.

On occasion, a third card will be dealt to one or both positions. If the hand is worth 8 or 9 it is known as a Natural and receives no more cards. If the Player hand is worth 5 or less then it receives a third card. If the Player hand does not receive a third card then the Banker hand will receive a third card if it is worth 5 or less but will not receive a third card if it is worth 6 or more.

If the Player hand has received a third card, then in some situations the Banker hand will also receive a third card. If the Banker hand is worth 2 or less then it receives a third card. If the Banker hand is worth 3 then it receives a third card as long as the Player’s third card was not an 8. If the Banker hand is worth 5 then the Banker will receive a third card if the Player’s third card was a 4, 5, 6 or 7. If the Banker hand is worth 6 then it will receive a third card if Player’s third card was a 6 or 7. The Banker will not receive a third card if the position has a total of 7 or higher.

Once all cards have been dealt you are paid for any winning bets.

Payouts

The Player and Banker bets both pay at 1:1, unless the Banker wins with a 6, in which case it pays 0.5:1. The Tie bet pays 8:1.
